this is what i got, theres no room on top of the bumper the doors swing open and under the bumper is too low, you wont be able to see anything. i dont really want anything on the top you have to drill holes in the roof and run the wires.

I did the same as Brian.
I have the same problem parking around here.
I put the silverstar bulbs in the factory spots, but went with lights custom mounted tucked up under the bumper like that.

The only problem is the lights I have are just too big. I didn't buy new lights, I just grabbed a pair of old huge yellow fog lights I had on one of my old vans. They work great, but look like crap. Gotta get some slimmer ones to make it look decent.

Which ones did you get, Brian? And are they a driving light pattern or fog light pattern? I would think a fog beam pattern would work better for backing up at night. Should throw a shorter but wider beam pattern out. I had some slim Hella fog lights up front, and was going to try and get another pair for the rear, but now that one has leaked and the seal is shot, I'm not sure I want to get another pair. They were made pretty cheaply. So I'm on the hunt for something better made for both front and rear pairs.

Mine are relayed into the backup circuit, so they come on automatic, but it would be nice to wire in a switch to ward off tail gaters. I did this mod on my Cruiser, it has bright white LED lights in the upper part of the hatch on either side of the high mount stop light. These are completely wired on a switch, so they can be turned on whenever I like. Makes for a great hidden tailgater deterrent.

He can't fool us, it'* not for silly reverse lights. He'* gonna give his Buick the retro look by recreating the old Buick portholes in the fender, but in LED! Prolly hook em to his turn signal lights. Makes me want to trade in the Pontiacs and go back to Buick . . . not. hehe

Dooo iiittt. Just get the stuff on eBay. Usually cheaper, even though there is a bit of a wait. Like I said in the other thread, everything I bought for this cost me under $20, including the load resistors.

Haha I've wanted to do the portholes, and make them functional, but considering my fenders are very rusted around the mounting brackets, and the fact that I won't be keeping this car too much longer decided against that.

So, after two days of trying to put these bulbs, and constantly blowing fuses and having trouble, I think I'm going to give up on them. I might try them in the tail lights though. They actually work there to trouble.

I also got my pack of 10 194 white leds today. I replaced the corner bulbs in the head and tail lights, the glove box, and the ones behind my gauges. I got a nice surprise after I reassembled my dash and tried out the lights:

I was thinking about putting a blue led strip around them to get the blue look, but this is much better

I'd say go red. You can always wire the fogs to a relay to stay on with the brights, like I done with my low beams. I'm sure you could find a write up somewhere.
