Once you go S/C you can't go back.

Sol 01-07-2005 12:05 PM

It does seem a bit high for a 93 with that many miles. Talk the dealer down.

1993 SLE 01-07-2005 12:35 PM

ya I havent seen many red 93's with the Ghettos. that is a rare car, espically if its in good condition

SSsuperchargedEi 01-07-2005 02:04 PM

i agree with Sol... you could find a high mileage series 2 for that price

Yeah baby yeah, bank loan is good to go for 8000 dollars, they guy there said he would let it go for 6000 and replace what i think is the catalytic converter thats shot, might not be though, but he said he will fix whatever is causing the major shutter under load on the highway (my old one did that too, cat converter fixed it)
Brand new breaks, all four corners, ABS and trac work, heat is amazing, power seats all work, it even has command start, which i know was odd with the VATS, but it works great.
Heres some pictures ladies and gentlemen, my soon to be Bonneville

LOL i have to laugh. your car has the grey interior and the ghetto golds. My car has the tan interior gold pinstriping and Silver crosslaces. I could never figure my car out. I was the only one that had silver crosslace and the tan, you are now the opposite. sweet

llBlazin_llLo 01-07-2005 05:46 PM

WOW. . . .Nice find! It really looks clean! I wish my '92 was that clean, but I guess with $600 you get what you pay for!

OLBlueEyesBonne 01-07-2005 06:04 PM

Looks nice and clean. But $6000?!?!!?! (Transalates to about $4700? US) -still high. I bet you could get that thing for closer to $5500 CAN if you point out it doesn't have the moonroof (which is on ALOT of SSEi's and almost as many SSE's). Also point out that the car is already 13 'model' years old (which is how ins companies look at cars and if you were to total it pulling out of the lot the ins would probably not give more than $5k CAN to you).
No doubt though, if you get it you will enjoy it like it was a $10k (Can) car.

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 06:08 PM

one thing i did notice it did need also was that stupid superchager belt tensioner, my old bonny ate those like nothing, but that was because of other crap too im sure. I dunno, for 6000 it looks decent, maybe i will ask how much better he can do lol.
still, i want this car! :D

fantastic88 01-07-2005 06:22 PM

That car has original plug wires.

CFoote 01-07-2005 06:24 PM

I bought a '96 SLE (well, SE with the SLE package) WITH moonroof with 116k on it for $3500 this time last year. You can definitely do better on the price, but suit yourself...

Twister97 01-07-2005 07:02 PM

Dont get ripped of man. There are a lot better deals out there. But none the less, its a decent car.

1993 SLE 01-07-2005 07:05 PM

I think that a car with paint and interior in that condition would be worth it. SSEi's are rare in up there (i think) Yes there are cars out there for less, but look at the paint quality and the interior quality, I would rather pay more for a car that looks good, for along time to come, than hjave a car that is less money and pay more fixing it so it does look good

and Matt you can still keep your user name

Twister97 01-07-2005 07:19 PM

Its still a 13 year old sedan. I agree its a nice car, but geeze, that dealer is pushing it. Maybe there just more in Can :?

Midnight Express 01-07-2005 07:27 PM

Wow that is very clean for that yr. and mi. I know that this type of car sells for more money in Canada than we are use to seeing down here Plus the conversancy of the dollers thros us yanks off :? anyway it doesn't hurt to try and talk him down a Little, Good luck :)

Mine does too...things will change in the spring.

That car is hot. It is in really really good shape. Not the best buy, but you do get what you pay for.

Two questions, what is command start? Second, what is that black "cap" looking thing next to the valve cover.

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 08:14 PM

Okay, i bought it, i get it tomorrow, it was a bad plug wire, go figure. I have my MSD coils and wires though from my old bonny. The price was kinda high, but i love this car. It just got a brand new windshield a few days ago, and a compleat break job including rotors and drums. good to go.

Midnight Express 01-07-2005 08:26 PM

Alright!! :D Enjoy your new car! :)

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 08:28 PM

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 09:36 PM

yeah i know, its about time im eligable for COTM lol. Its just nice to be part of a group once again, and actually have something in common, i own a bonneville lol. MMM supercharger....homer drooling noise.
Tomorrow its getting
Oil change, msd wires and coils, im gunna check the plugs out, and i might change the S/C oil. Can't Hurt.

BonneMeMN 01-07-2005 09:42 PM

6000cdn isn't too much. People will say 3900 for my car was too much, but with how it's been treated, the lack of winters till i got it, and shape it was in, it's a great deal.

Those aren't necessarily the OE wires, they could just be replaced with the same thing.

I don't know if the MSD coils will do you much. Guys he already had a high milage car and it was falling apart.

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 09:49 PM

your telling me, that effin thing never ran right, and u could count road lines through the floor while driving
no complaints here on that.
I have owned in two years
1986 Park Avenue-647,500 kms at sale
1993 Bonneville SSEi-254,100 kms at sale
1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme-207,500 at purchase, current 207,556kms
2002 Olds Alero GL-58,800 kms current
1993 Bonneville SSEi-Current 157,400 kms
wow.
sickening.

BonneMeMN 01-07-2005 09:50 PM

What are your plans for the Alero?

I still think a new shortblock for the 3.x motor would be a good idea.

SSEimatt93 01-07-2005 09:55 PM

That cutlass is gone very soon. trust me lol
Alero is being sold privatley

bill buttermore 01-07-2005 10:44 PM

Congratulations, man; that is one SHARP looking SSEi !

I know what you mean, once you've been boosted, it's hard to stay away!

JR 01-07-2005 11:30 PM

Hey man, that was a decent deal you got there. All you americans on here have got to understand that our dollar is is only worth about 75% of yours. Plus, these cars are not too common in canada for some reason.

I just bought a 96 SSEi from ontario in incredible shape with 140 000 kms for $6000. The guy was desperate to sell. I live in saskatchewan where that car in that good of condition sells for 10 large, easy. Used cars here in Saskatchewan sell for around 20% more than cars in Ontario and Alberta cause our insurance is so cheap.

SSEimatt93 01-08-2005 01:47 AM

I'm just happy that I found a Bonneville in such nice condition, and I now own it, sorta, well, the bank owns it lol.

GAMEOVER 01-08-2005 01:58 AM

what happened to the alero? that ride is clean BTW

SSEimatt93 01-08-2005 12:27 PM

thank you, thank you all.
First order of business today will be an oil change, install the like new foggers from Bonnie94SSE (i knew i would use them some day), then maybe change the plugs and 02 sensor, that kinda fun stuff, did i mention megiuars the crapp outta the interior.

OLBlueEyesBonne 01-08-2005 01:28 PM

You know you are gonna have to change your avator now?
Yeah, I did a currency conversion at the current rate and you didn't come off as bad as I thought you were gonna.
And yes, that Medium Garnett Red is an extremely rare color on the HY5 and HZ5 models of 1992-1993. The only Medium Garnett Red SSE or SSEi around here is my mechanics old 1992 SSE SC with the factory chrome 12 spokers (like Driverjohn's white rims only chrome).

Now you know you are gonna have to become BC's official pic whore since Ryan is slacking off. LOL :D

Currency rate is a bitch right now though.

SSEimatt93 01-08-2005 07:19 PM

The car is still there, they changed the spark plug wires, but that didnt fix the problem, im still thinking its the catalytic converter thats bad, but thats fine lol, they will pay for it all he said, he also said he doesnt want to sell me a sub par car lol.

driverjohn2005 01-08-2005 07:21 PM

wow!!!!! That's a great looking ride!!!!!! Congratz!!!!

I did too. It's gonna be nice -how many of your Bonneville's are in the pics though? I got both my 1998 SSE AND 1999 SSEi  in them. :king:

LakevilleSSEi 01-08-2005 08:49 PM

Congrats on your purchase.....I'll take the Alero....for free though...... :D Just kidding.....

It doesn't take much to plug cat.....Doesn't take long either.....I'm almost positive that mines clogged.....Waiting for warmer weather or shop space to cut the cat open and pull out that honey comb stuff....before I just go out and buy a new one.....To make sure it's plugged.
