Talking Long time GM fan, 1st Pontiac

Just got a 1996 SSEi last night. Haven t gotten a chance to take my own pictures yet, so these are taken by the guy i got it from. It has: CAI, flowmaster exhaust, he said something about hi-perf. coil packs and wires, but the look stock to me.

Only thing i have found so far that im not too sure about is it like to run at about 200 degrees, im thinkin thermostat and coolant flush, or is this normal? Other than that i love it! traded my gas hog 94 silverado for it.

The car has a 195* thermostat so that temp is normal.

Very sharp looking car, engine looks real clean.

Once that MOD bug bites, it'* all over.

thanks for the nice reply, the mod bug bit me a long time ago, i just don't know where to start LOL. I think the best way would be to drive it for awhile and see what needs to be replaced. (or tweaked a little bit razysmile

Have you changed the supercharger pulley? You can go to a 3.5" without any problems. To go to a 3.4" you will need to make a few more changes and you would need to scan for KR. You will need a pulley puller that'* made for a supercharger, or have a member near by that has a puller and can help.

Nice looking car.

i would check the year though. I believe that it'* a 94/95 based on the pictures. And the Motor is a Series 1 3.8L, which wasn't offered after 95.

Other than that, the car looks excellent and we will help with it in any way possible.

I do believe the stock size should be 2.85" Use a measuring tape to measure it. You can probably drop down to 2.5 without any other mods but you'll want to scan for KR afterwards. Search the forum and you'll find lots of info on changing pulleys.

Seeing that you found you have a 95 instead of a 96 you will need to disregard the pulley sizes I listed, that'* for a series 2 and you have a series 1. Not my area, but I seem to remember 2.8 being stock size.
