I'm the same way about people on my hood but I decided there is an exception for pics of my gf on my car... 
I used to have a wax, wax, wax, polish, claybar, wax wax wax... etc routine that I used. I would wash every week and do whatever was on the wax schedule every 2 weeks, so the paint was beautiful. For proof, here'* a pic of my car the day it got totalled:
It'* totaled but still in my posession, gets washed every month (on the reusable panels) and started and ran for 5min every day.

Don't ask about the suit. I work at Starbucks so I already had the shirt + pants on, it was cold and I needed a jacket, and the only thing I had at my parents house was a suit jacket so I threw that and a tie on for good measure.
