The buttons on the mirror are for On Star. The car comes with a free year of the Safe and Sound package plus 30 minutes of air time available for 2 months. After that I will need to subscribe for additional service. I have tried to use up the 30 minutes and will buy an additional 100 minutes good for a year but at 40 cents a minute the cost is really steep. The convenience of the phone in the car that will work from most anywhere is nice as our family usually takes 4 to 5 long road trips a year for vacations.
The three buttons on the overhead console are to operate any device similar to a garage door opener. I have the buttons programmed to open both of the garage doors in our home plus the garage door down at my parent’* home. These buttons are a really nice option in the Bonny. I made sure I bought a Bonneville that included the option.
Pontiac Dad;
Thank you. You are one of the contributors on this forum that gave me the confidence to purchase and install the kit. I won’t say the kit was a breeze to install but I took my time and developed a plan on how to install the entire kit. Believe me you do need a plan because there are only 4 vials of the adhesive promoter and it needs to prep all of the surfaces that will have a piece of the wood trim installed. Plus in the 2000 through 2004 Bonneville, with bucket seats, the two pieces that surround the shifter can be rather tricky to install.

I love that smell. I even keep the car in the garage with the windows rolled up to preserve the smell longer. But seriously there is no adhesive smell this morning.

Carbon Fiber kits are hot and Joshua Tree sells them. I will recommend Joshua tree because the kits are top shelf, yes pricy but worth it because of the tapered edges and the quality of the kit. The service from Joshua Tree is also quick and very consumer orientated. Check out their website at http://www.woodtrim.com/default.cfm
The kits are mail order only, quick service and delivery. The kit I purchased was made to order and took about 7 days to be delivered. One benefit of made to order is that all of the pieces are from the same sheet of wood so the wood grain and color are a match for all pieces

Thanks for the link, I bookmarked it for future reference. I ran across the link when researching for a new car to replace the 95 Bonneville but did not bookmark it.

No sweat. If I had OnStar, I'd go for it.
Also, If I had 300 bucks, the Real Brushed Aluminum dash kit at Joshua tree could be pretty sweet!!
And, since I haven't mentioned it, your dash looks awesome!!

Thank you for the compliments I really like the way the project turned out. Wood seems to appeal to us older guys more that the younger crowd. Joshua Tree carries a wide variety of dash kits for the Bonneville.
This coming weekend I should have the wood pattern for the Bonneville Grille completed and with a little free time have the custom stainless steel mesh grille fabricated and installed. June will be a busy month for my family. We have every weekend booked already.
