I can’t believe I’m sitting here with tears welling up in my eyes as I’m watching my Star Chief drive down the road with her new owner. I must’ve got some dirt in my eye.

I think that is the side mirror. My '64 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 has one fender mounted mirror in about that same spot.

Sorry to see it go, Stan. I must tell you, though, that several times, I had thought about purchasing it off you, but there was no way I would have had the funds or the time to do it justice (plus, my wife would have killed me
)
My biggest regret is that I didn't get to drive it before it left. (I so wanted too, last year when I stayed over).
