Default Hail to the 'Chief...

...and solong. I can’t believe I’m sitting here with tears welling up in my eyes as I’m watching my Star Chief drive down the road with her new owner. I must’ve got some dirt in my eye.

That old car was like part of the family.

My 3 freaks remembering glory days in the Chief, just before the buyer came to get it:

I think that is the side mirror. My '64 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 has one fender mounted mirror in about that same spot.

Yep! REMOTE CONTROL mirror, nonetheless.

64 Olds, eh? Classic!!

Thanks for the encouragement there, Mr Vitalis.

Somewhere in SLC. I gave him my email address and told him the sale was contingent on progress reports. LOL. The kid was pretty excited to get it, so I think it will be in good hands. At least it won't go to the crusher or the demo derby.

Sorry to see it go, Stan. I must tell you, though, that several times, I had thought about purchasing it off you, but there was no way I would have had the funds or the time to do it justice (plus, my wife would have killed me )

My biggest regret is that I didn't get to drive it before it left. (I so wanted too, last year when I stayed over).

So long

If you'd been able to stay a few hours longer, we would have fired 'er up and raised hell in West Point. Once you cruised in the Chief, you were hooked. Just sumpin' about her...that big engine, the floaty ride...not much of a handler though, in a corner it had more body rolls than Oprah.

Thanks for the additional pics. I'll post some more next week - I"m off today and really should be doin' stuff!
