Here'* my take on it.
The 97-03'* have a more rugged ride to them, and look more sleek. The nose end is flatter.
The GXP is WAY more refined overall and has a very distinct and sophisticated look to it. The chrome 18'* really give it a great stance. It handles way better than my car too.
