Default Grilles - Painted ---> BEFORE & AFTER

Well, I posted awhile ago about doing some subtle customization on my bonneville. I decided to paint my grilles. Here are the before & after (respectively):

Let me know what you think.

Nice work... the silver/chrome grills look really good on black Bonnies.

LOL... Actually, the first pic was taken right after I picked up the car about 2 months ago. Also, right after a freak snow storm went through. I had been toying with the idea of doing this, just couldn't make my mind up as to what color. I just bought the paint yesterday. I started painting them yesterday afternoon and put the final coat on them this morning. Step 1 was a primer specifically made for painting on plastic and step 2 was several coats of a metallic silver paint. Both were Rust-o-Leum brand paint from Home Depot.

Well, you know, I was thinking chrome, but in my experience in the past with chrome paints on plastic, they don't ever turn out the way you want them to. Besides, I think with how far back in they are, chrome just would not have stuck out as much, if I could have made it 'true' chrome looking.
