Ugh, I don't care for the new Grand Prix body style. I mean it is definatly overdue for the styling change, but....ugh, lol
I haven't heard much about the GXP, what powerplant does it use?

The GP is the sporty car, the bonneville is the smooth car with DOHC.
That 5.3 does NOT have the 4t-65... thank god.
Those tire sizes are a good sign IMO.... Those rotors are HOT, wonder if it'll have tapshift.
EDIT: The LS4 engine is mated to a high-performance Hydra-Matic 4T65-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with standard TAPShift. The transmission is strengthened to handle the prodigious torque of the V-8 engine.
Whatever works, it better shift better then the 97-current one..

Pontiac'* effort to boost the performance image of all its vehicles visits the Grand Prix next. The mid-size four-door will inherit a version of GM'* 5.3-liter V-8, re-engineered for front-drive use, in the new Grand Prix GXP. In this installation it makes 290 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The GXP also gets 12 percent better fuel economy than it would without Pontiac'* first use of Displacement on Demand, technology that shuts off a bank of cylinders under light driving loads. Pontiac pegs the 0-60 time for the GXP at roughly 6 seconds. New styling tweaks, including new front and rear fascias, 18-inch wheels, and new interior trim distinguish the model, for which pricing hasn't been announced. Sales begin in the first quarter of 2005.
255 tires on 18 x 8 in the front, and 225 tires on 18 x 7 in the rear.
dual piston calipers with 12. 7" front rotors is nice (single piston 12.0" rear).

Chrome = heavier and slower, probably why the GXP'* 18'* are not chromed.
I might agree if you were comparing chromed steel wheels with cast aluminum wheels but our chromed wheels are cast aluminum with a very micro thin coating of chrome. Clear coat would weigh close to same.
GXP'* are not chromed due to cheap marketing ploy. Next years models are always better.
