If we picked cars from the same month, someone would post a picture on the last day of the month and it'd be fresh in everyone'* minds when the nominations and voting rolled around. This one-month delay gives the voters some time to wipe the drool off of their chins, and hopefully makes the playing field a little more level.

At least that'* how I see it. I didn't make the rules, I just inherited them.
