I sure drew a lot of attention, young and old, the announcer said it was his favorite of the show.
If you think it draws a lot of attention now, get it to run in the mid-high 8'* in the 1/8 and mid 13'* in the 1/4 and it will draw hella attention. I remember when we went to the track for a test and tune one night the announcer was like, what is this, a Grand Prix?, WTF is this guy doing. And then during the burnout he was like, wow, thats a lot of smoke, did that Grand Prix do that? (He had to ask because he couldn't see the car 'cause of the smoke) Then when it ran the 1/4 he was like HOLY F&%^, did you see that Pontiac, it just ran a 12.8XX 1/4 mile!!! Then he said, I'm gonna have to come down and see what they did to that car...and then he did!!!

So, just a piece of advice, if you want to attract attention at the track, do a big smokey burnout, run decently into the 13'* (low-mid 13'*, or maybe into the high 12'* if you want to lay down some big $$ and really impress them) so they can see it isn't some slow ricer or anything and then do that a few times in a row. Then park the car with the hood open and watch the crowd come. I think you will enjoy it. Or you can leave it like it is and get a crowd that way too, nothing wrong with that.

BonneAlien: yes I ran the car

CraZyDriVer868: I ran 10.2 in the 1/8.......no mods.

Mos95b: That Goat comes out of the garage each year for this event. I've talked to the owner and he says he has over $40,000 into it. Wheels jump about foot in the air on take off.......very nice!

Dbtk2: you and me think alike!! Thats why I'm here, was saving for a big screen tv, but now I'm putting the $4500 into the bonneville. Next year we burnout and run mid 8'*!! Todate i've done a gutted air box, removed the maf screen and cooler thermostat.
I'll be getting
Shift kit
LSD
Drag slicks
headers
borla cat back (signed up with Ty)
cai (signed up with hector)
I win 1:9 rockers
3" pulley
DHP ecm
msd coils and wires
Maybe nos (75hp shot?)
any other suggestions? I will do the cam and heads later on after I build up the bottom end.

That is a pretty decent mod list and should definately put you in the 8'*, the only thing I can see wrong with that mod list is the pulley. On the street (pump gas) there is NO WAY you will be able to run that small of a pulley, on race gas...probably, but you will need a larger pulley for the street, just making sure you know that, probably a 3.2" for the street and a 3" for the strip. Sounds like thats gonna be a fun Bonneville, you will probably suprise a few people with it.

The dealer lists it as 'sport red metallic', but a better description I heard here was 'maple leaf red'......its almost a burgandy or wine but lighter with great depth.

Very cool, I can't wait till I get to the track this year. First time in my ssei. Your story reminds me of my first time at the track last year in my aurora. looked very out of place, but lots of people came to talk to me about it, even got free track passes to come back again, which I did. here'* a couple of fun picts. ran, 1st pict is against a GTP. I lost every race, that'* ok. Might suprise a few in the ssei next year when the mod list gets bigger

a 15.56 with intake and bored 80mm TB. Corsa exhaust wasn't on yet.
