*instant update* she just called me as i submitted this and said she saw a freshly severed half of a deer near her place......insurance companies are gonna get hammered on monday!

I'm glad you are OK, looks like it could have been a lot worse if the hood hadn't buckled the way it did. I'm guessing that that'* what kept the deer out of the windshield?
Here'* for the bad news. Your core support will have to be replaced, and the inner fenders are damaged as well, and will have to be straightened before the support can be reinstalled. Your insurance is going to total the car. You can buy the car back from the insurance company, though, with the money they'll pay up for it, and use the remainder to do the repairs. Depending on your state, you'll probably have to get a salvage title, though, which means most insurance companies won't cover it for collision anymore.

Damn there was a lot of energy in that hit. Glad to hear you're alright. If the core support isn't bad, you might be able to just put on new body panels.
PS i'm not gonna say it
2nd PS, ok curse..

I do agree with Brian (Gonneville) My first thought was "that car is totalled" I bet the miles are high and that'* going to cause the insurance company to total it.
Don't buy it back. Just take the insurance money and buy a SSEi if no one suggested that yet.

That damage looks very familiar. I hit a deer with my 94 about 6 years ago, and at that time the damage (similar hit and speed as yours) was $9500 Canadian. Because your airbags were deployed that alone will cost about $3000 (new dash, windshield, sensors, packs). Hood, fenders, grill, headlights, labour, paint another easy $4000. So if your car is worth $7000 today looks like you'll get it fixed, but if I was you I'd be out shopping for a newer Bonny right about now!
WOW!! I am glad you are okay! Cars can be replaced buy you can't.
Hitting a deer is one of my biggest concerns especially since I do so much driving on the hwy at 70mph.

Wow, that'* nuts. We have a lot of deer here in Michigan, and I'm always on the lookout. Last spring I was with my friend in his Chrysler New Yorker and we hit a deer at about 55. Luckily the car held up really well, but what a freaky experience.
