Default Chrome Grill (How-to w/ Pix)

Hey all, this is a repost on how-to chrome/paint your grill.

First remove the grill, there are 3 bolts to remove and a clip in the center.

Cover everything and anything you don't want to get painted. Becareful to to have any crease or folds in the tape near the grill otherwise the paint might seep into it.

A closeup shot of the clip I broke when trying to remove the grill... I tried gluing it back on, but I find that the 3 bolts do a good job of holding it on.

Choose your spray paint carefully.... the Krylon stuff has a nice chrome "top" to the can, but the paint is actually more of a silver/grey. The Plastikote Bumper Chrome had a dark grey "top" to the can, but comes out like liquid chrome.

Spray in a well ventilated area, and use short stokes. I gave mine 2 coats and did not use a clearcote for fear that it might discolor it.

When it'* completely dry, (I gave mine 30mins between coats and 45mins to dry at the end, remove all the tape. If you have any overspray use something like a tiny bit of nail polish remover to get it off quick.

Reattach.... and tada your done.... a very simple mod that addds IMHO a lot to the front end of your car. Esp if you have your clear corners done.

Bass....I think the chrome (or white) grill would look really good on any car w/ their corners cleared. Or even better some gold metallic paint... that might look REALLY good.

Hrm... send me a good front shot of your car with that camera of yours... and I'll advise. Chrome would look good if your corners are done, but maybe some other color might off set it even better
