Sweet dude......I would definatly go w/speakers all the way around.....but that'* just me I love Sony.....but then I've also had problems w/sony products...I.E...my ps2 and my HU!! I have Alpine Type R'* all the way around....and I love it!! I bet those subs wail!! I'd actually like to hear that paticular set up to see what Alpine subs sound like on a Sony HU.....Been thinking on doing some sort of trade-in type thing and completing all the speakers Alpine!! Let me know how that does for ya!!

Manifest: How is the box held in place?
What size power wires, speaker wires, where are they routed(RCA'* too) ?
You should invest in some good speaker grills. Tearing the cone or surround would suck a LOT.

96bonniessei: I still think you should sell the gift certs on ebay and go buy something you want. And what is the point of upgrading speakers first, good speakers with a meh source = meh.

Box is held by brackets in the back of the box that I drilled to the box and the back beam in the car {dont know what its called}, The power wires are 8 gage.....but will soon be 0 gage.... Speaker wire is 12 gage... and they are RCA also......not to worried seeing how I now no longer use my trunk and they are bolted down......backseat=New Trunk for now.....They sound great with the sony hu....the only prob is when the bass is up really loud they pop up my back speaker covers which is annoying....There is still alot more power I can push on these they are 900 watt each speakers....and I only got 800 watt amp goin 400 watt to each.....so I am thinking about getting another orion amp and pushing 800 watt to each....+ when I get the zero gage it will be a lil louder also......I would have taken some car pic'* but if you may recall I had a bad rust issue and I am currently in the finishing process of sanding the bondo and about ready to touch it up......so I should have pics up of that soon....

take the rear speaker grills off. You will probably notice that the noice you hear is the subs moving the 6*9'* against their will and making them pop. Taking the 6*9s out may not be a bad idea.

Definitely go with speakers before the new deck.
I've been using Alpine Type * 2-way 5.25" and Bose tweeters in the front doors and Infinity Reference 3-way 6x9'* in the rear with the stock AM/FM/CD/7-band EQ and the sound is SO far beyond what it was with stock speakers.
I really need an amp though for the Alpine'* as the Alpine'* are hard to hear, whereas with these same speakers in my old 98 SSE with a Bose amp the sound stage was almost impeccable.
I'm looking at putting my old Pioneer deck back in again soon so I can hook up the Orion HCCA cheater amp and Infinity 12" DVC sub -I miss my thump in the trunk. :(

BTW, the *'* are only rated at 300 RMS so I wouldn't be sending them any more power. The vids are very nice, great choice of songs. If I were you, I would have spent a little bit more $ and gone for the R'* but as long as you are happy.

Well as I said in my other post I got the sony hu, 8 gage wire kit, the 2 subs, box, and amp in a trade for a PSP (retail-250) that I won at a LAN party in DETRIOT a few months ago....the reason the kid traded is cause I modded the hell out of that psp....4 gig hd, could play Atari, SNES, NES, Nintendo 64, sega, gameboy and gameboy advanced games on it....also I had abunch of games for it that I riped and put on the hard drive so he would never have to buy a game for it.....it also had a web browser......and what not....He gave me all the receipts for the system and they are as follows........
Orion Amp= 699.99
Alpine tyS= 259.99
Alpine tyS=259.99
Wirekit 8G=55.99
box=159.99

he didnt have one for the sony hu.....I dont know I think he got ripped off but he bought them 7 months ago and they sat on his floor in his room.
