Calipers, Tails, and Debadging
I've been doing A LOT of work to my car recently. After I got the car lowered, I worked on fixing most of the paint chips. After that I got an alignment. Last week I clayed with a Mother'* Clay Kit and polished with Liquid Glass. In the past two days I have painted my brake calipers and brackets, tinted my tail lights, and took the "Grand Prix" badge off of the trunk. I just finished putting another coat of Liquid Glass on.
I will never use another wax again. Liquid Glass is an amazing product. There is about 4 coats on the hood, 3 on the front bumper, and 2 on the rest of the car.
To paint the calipers, I used red VHT Caliper Spray Paint, followed by Duplicolor High Temp Clearcoat. I initally started using Duplicolor Caliper Spray Paint, and then as I was putting it on, I realized it was complete crap. The paint went on way too thick and it was just a terrible finish. It wouldn't get in the pores of the metal and was a complete waste of money and a headache. After using a can and getting nowhere, I went and got some VHT paint. The VHT was 100x better. It was lighter going on which was better and easier to get in the small pores of the metal. I was very satisfied with it.
To tint my tails, I used VHT NiteShades. It was very easy to use. I'm the kind of person that sucks at painting, and even I had an easy time using this stuff. I put about 5 light coats of VHT and 3 coats of Duplicolor clearcoat on each tail. They have a fairly nice shine and it is easy to see the brake lights. I upgraded to brighter bulbs to be on the safe side.
Finally, this morning I took the "Grand Prix" badge off of the trunk since I thought it looked better that way. After I took it off I went at it with a lot of polishing compound and clay and now there is just an extremely faint outline of the badge. It'* barely noticable.
There are still a few minor things I need to touch up on the body, but overall this car is looking somewhat decent for being nearly 10 years old and going through some harsh conditions.
In the past few weeks I've learned a few things:
1.) Liquid Glass is way better than any wax I've ever used.
2.) VHT is a much higher quality paint than Duplicolor.
3.) A lowered stance is so much nicer.

That shine is simply amazing!! All the little things add up to make the car look great. I have a soft spot for the GP GTP - I really like that body style. Keep it up!!
Maybe pick up some tire shine (not sure what brand) and that car will look showroom.
