Hey I got a pic of them last friday when the only one showing was the brake lamp.

Anyways...How bright are these lights really at night?? I tend to have my dome light on often at night trying to find something. and the lights glowing on the road could break a few state laws if I'm caught?

the lights are pretty bright and give a nice glow to the area under and around the door. you cannot see the lights when the door is closed because they are in the bottom of the door. so if you use your dome light a lot this would not be a problem at all.

Here in Minnesota...any lights namely neons disply kits are illegal....Maybe I shouldn't use the dome light and know where everything is

Same in NJ. What my friend did was hook it up to a switch for when he goes out of state. So if you do a substantial amount of out of state driving thats always an option.
