Did you overbore that 403? It'* a shame that such a big engine only puts out 160 HP stock.

Sweet car, and who cares what color it is! Its whats under the hood that counts... 403ci. V8 right? Or is it a 455ci. or 400ci. or the 350ci?

If it'* a 6.6, it'd be the 403.

Yes it once started as a stock 403 ci Oldsmobile engine that was rated at a smog related 185 hp @ 3600 rpm and 320 ft-lbs @ 2000 rpm.

Now it'* more like 400 hp @ 5000 rpm and 400 ft-lbs.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm keeping it unpainted for now. Maybe in a year or two....if my son doesn't steal it away. Yes the 6 grand is a proper panel off stripped to the bone job. One can spend a lot more on a custom job. This would be a basic quality clearcoat metalic paint job.

Took it to the weigh scales today and with me in it and 3/4 tank of fuel it is 3700 lbs.
The 20 lbs of T-tops were removed.
I'm really impressed how this beast wails when I floor it.

If you mean how does it compare to my immaculate Blue Formula, well it would be close but the Formula aka Max is so much tighter, handles waaaay better and feels quicker.
The T/A aka Black Betty is loud and rough, besides the crap paint job.

As much as my kid thinks it'* his car, it isn't and won't be for at least 2 years as long as he keeps up his A grades. That'* if his sister doesn't steal it first....but her C grades just won't cut it.
