Default Back on the road first time in 2 years

After a very long slumber, this car is back going down the road. It took some work, but she is ready to go now. What promoted me to get this car going again was that Fusion I bought is having some serious transmission problems. So I stuffed it into the shed. Who knows when that thing will see the light of day again. Maybe I can convince the stealer ship to fix it, but so far no luck.

Even after sitting all that time this car started up with just a flick of the key. I think the coil is going out so that will be replaced shortly. When I can find a 95 or 96 3.4l DOHC in the yard. Those years had a better placement of the coil away from the hot exhaust manifold and tend to last a little longer.

She rolled 104k so this car still has some life left in her.

Still looks like a very nice car!
I've had my hands all over that car years ago. They were built at the Doraville, Ga assembly plant. Well, actually most of the modification on the body was done by a off-site company called Cars & Concept.
At the time I was a Supervisor in the Body Build Dept. at the GM plant. They were a challenge to build sometimes while building regular Olds at the same time.

What is it with the newer cars lately, even their warranties?
I can understand using the cutlass, it actually works well, and at 104k you got lots of good miles ahead!

I don't know, but newer cars just plain suck. The cutty is a very nice riding car still, but it does feel a bit worn as it is 22 years old now, but I still like it.

The Cutlass is a summer vehicle all the way, I never drive it in the winter because I don't want to rust out. I really enjoy this convertible, and I have no problems driving it anywhere in the country.
