took the RCAs out and the speaker wire out of the car
Attachment 74483

the spagetti under the dash
Attachment 74484

moved my capacitor to the drivers side corner of the trunk....the cutout was a perfect side
Attachment 74485

and its attached through the carpet with bolts and washers
Attachment 74486

here are the brackets that my dad and i made to attach the amps tho the trunk lid
Attachment 74487

Attachment 74488

put one layer of peel and seal on the trunk before the brackets went on
https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...install010.jpg

one bracket attached
Attachment 74489

both brackets
Attachment 74490

and we used the frame of the trunk to make the other mounting points
right side
https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...install014.jpg

left side
Attachment 74491

the trunklid insulator is now in with all the cutouts for the mounting points for the amps
i ran the wires through existing holes in the insulator
Attachment 74492

I have the both distro blocks mounted and the wires all hidden for them
Attachment 74493

one amp molunted with out cover on it, not wired up yet
Attachment 74494

both amps up there, unwired
https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...install019.jpg

Attachment 74495

Attachment 74496

Attachment 74497

BUT you would think that i was done......wrong....

making speaker baffles for the front doors

Hans 08-11-2005 11:33 PM

Nice looking install, Althoguh one sub...say like an ED 8A or something would be nice in the corner of the trunk.

PontiacDad 08-11-2005 11:39 PM

corvettecrazy 08-11-2005 11:48 PM

Twister97 08-12-2005 12:53 AM

willwren 08-12-2005 01:39 AM

Looks great. I wouldn't suggest leaving the trunk lid open on a slope though......not with your noggin in the way.

I was just thinking, all that extra weight, it wouild close itself as soon as it wasnt perfectially vertical lol. Thats an idea I don't think I have ever seen on BC before. That matting will really improve the overal sound quality, enjoy.

and for the decklid being heavy as everyone mentioned, I adjusted the torsion bars for the trunk, there is of 3 settings for each side making a total of 6 settings I currently have the setting on notch 2 on both sides....I had it at 3 and 2 and i may return it to that one....but it stays up on its own right now[/quote]

vital49 08-12-2005 09:38 AM

BTW, your driver's seat looks like brand new!

Custom88 08-12-2005 12:18 PM

Install looks great!

Have you looked into the Infinity Basslink? It'll easy fit into one of the corners of hte trunk near the tailights out of the way and it has decent bass response for how small it is. I'd look into it. :)

looong4 08-12-2005 01:15 PM

That looks really good. Good job.

tripscarcare95 08-12-2005 03:53 PM

Looks really good, i have professional made box for 2 15'subs, it fits arcoss the back leaving the seat hatch accessible ill post some pics if you want to see the design, coulld make your own for any sized subwoofer.

willwren 08-12-2005 03:57 PM

Be careful of the high settings on the springs. Several have been known to break. You don't want that to happen while opening the trunk.

I know bill My dad has the J tool for the bars had he had a Hell of a time getting the one side changed.......I think i will leave both bars on notch 2 for now, seems safer that was since the one side was set like that from the factory

gm4life 08-12-2005 05:43 PM

Ahh looks really good like music to my ears!

Pat, it'll help quite a bit in stress-relief if you lightly lube everywhere those bars touch anything. Helps distribute the stress points.

1993 SLE 08-12-2005 10:50 PM

yup already did that.....

silver98SE 08-13-2005 07:29 AM

Looks really nice and professional. Did those baffles in the doors give you any extra bass?

1993 SLE 08-13-2005 03:57 PM

thanks guys I just remembered that there is no pics of where the Capacitor Sits, and I made rear speaker baffles too.... will post maybe tonight

TaylorD 08-23-2005 10:50 PM

Pat looks good, need to get some/a sub, come one just one 8 or 10
Hey like your front speaker baffles, what did you use and how did you attach them to the speaker?

Watch that trunk lid, mine dosent have an amp on it but 2 layers of the mat and little bondo and plexi mirror. that sucker is heavy and has nailled my spine more than once in the slightest of breeze. All stereo shows try to park down hill.

old pic, corners aren't cleared yet.

1993 SLE 08-23-2005 10:58 PM

TaylorD 08-23-2005 11:22 PM

yeah but what did you use? looks like tuperwear. good idea, how did you seal it?
