Anthony's 1999 GTP project thread!
Spent about three hours on it, Slowly working/ talking on the phone, Put the subframe in, and stearing shaft, and hooked all the wiring up, bolted in the struts, left to do,
Install starter
put spark plug wires on
Change the oil
hook up raid lines
motor mounts
Drive away... (about an hour of work) a.k.a (3 days LOL)
Also thinking of picking up a 96 GTP

Ok well, maybe my block is not cracked after all! I started it today, and it ran with NO knocking
I need to install all the vacuum lines and I think I’m good too go! I have a few questions
1. I charged my battery all day (it’* less than 5 months old!). It was only able to start my car one time. (And ran for 1-2 min) be for I let it die out.
2. When my car was all the way off my CD player was lighting up, but not playing… and wouldn’t do anything! I think I might have not got the ground on good? Is that possible!? Here is how I hooked the starter up Maybe I did it wrong?
Orange and BIG red on one terminal (farthest away from the starter
I put the black wire from the starter and the black wire with the orange and purple and put them on the one closest to the starter,
and then I put the purple wire all by its self on the little one. And I put the big ground on the transmission bolt… did I do it right?!

At the ground on the trans, there is a large ground battery cable, plus two smaller grounds that come out of the harness (near the location) together.
At the starter, purple soleniod trigger wire does go to the smallest lug (8mm nut) and the positive battery cable and another (orange) smaller wire to the main power lug of the starter (13mm)
Sounds like you might have missed the two small grounds, which can cause you plenty of trouble in running/accessories.
On the dead battery, if a battery sits for a long time, it might discharge. I'd suggest having it tested.
Did you have any trouble fitting the O2 sensor into the limited space between the headers and firewall? I have some beaten in firewall pics if you need any for reference. With the motor running though, I'm sure you crossed that path already.

I got all the grounds right! thanks, i just wanted to make sure. i have did honestly 10-20 motor swaps/ transmission drops/ clutch jobs etc. Just forget stuff every now and then.
And the o2 sensor was something i knew about from my last headers, and hell one look will tell you. me and Mr 15 pound mall got the job done nice and easy lol!
