It'* a 96 GL with the 3.0 V6

Last night the car started running VERY poorly, And today it died a few times and now it won't start. It'* also emitting funny smells from the tailpipe and making "puttering" noise.

The only thing I could think of is bad gas when we filled it up last night. We had 3 inches of snow 2 days ago and most of it melted yesterday and today......

How long has it been since the spark plugs were changed? Do you have to take off the upper intake manifold, as I do on my mom'* Sable, to change the rear plugs and the overall ignition coils? Do you have an IMRC - Intake Manifold Runner Control? There'* usually a small box on the front valve cover with a couple of cables sticking out towards the driver'* side.

Bad (ok maybe good) news. the Taurus is DEAD! Problem was. BAD oil leak the night it started making funny noises. There was a BAD knock and the engine made a bang noise and everything went dead.

She lasted 14000 miles. RIP at 162118 miles.

Today mother got a wine colored 97 Intrepid. We used to have a 93 but my oldest wrecked it while she was learning to drive.
