Default Sound clip of 05 GXP

Several people wanted to hear it so I put a mike on a pail in between the tail pipes and three feet back. Headphones a plus. It was a little cold and I hit the limiter once and got a cough ( Limiter is 4 grand in park)

Sounds a bit like mine without the popping....I find mine is a slightly deeper tone.

Is it still stock? (the exhaust)

Ya exhaust still stock Jim, engine wasnt quite warm and I dont have an air box anymore...I pulled the towel off the TB just to fire it up for first time in a week.
And I didnt know till today, the rev limiter is 4000 in park. Gotta figure how to remove it. The N* uses fuelcutoff for limiter? Maybe I can jumper wire to fuel pump? or is it a valve?

Based on the electronics of the Northstar drivetrain I coulda swore it was electronically governed to be 4K in park. Electronic fuel cut off sounds complicated but I assume it could be a possiblity.

It sounds as though its fuel stopping and I read that somewhere but I've read volumes of stuff about the N* in the past month and cant remember where I got that. I posted so maybe someone who knows will respond. I do know that the limp home mode is done by cutting off half the injectors alternating with each 4 cycles( thats in Manual)Thanks guys. I am just so worried about hitting the dam thing under a full nitrous spray.

Sounds sharp!

Why does N* seem better response than LS4?
When I step on my gas, it is slower to go back to idle.

Mine has a rev limiter too. It is so annoying.

Double overhead cams with 32 valves and a PCM thats fit for a fighter jet would be my guess. The limiter in park(4000) is a good thing. But ya , the top end limiter is a big pain in the ***. The LS4 is a good engine, I think it'* just a matter of you making it breath better. The N* comes with a beefy exhaust, 75mm TB and a ouble chambered air box. I dont think the K&N really gave much Hp gain but it did seem to breath a little easier. The sound clip was done without anything on TB and the mike was three feet fron exhaust so it probably sound * a little more "angry" than it would going by ya. Still in a debate with myself with whether to drill out airbox or go with a FWI. But it'* off and I got to make up my mind. I can get away with putting nitrous/fuel nozzle at end of airbox just after the maf sensor but the nitrous is gonna fubar the rubber boot quick. The FWI would give me more room for the nitrous vaporize(it'* goes in wet) but there is squat for room and I havent found anything yet that would fit or modable to fit.and still give me 6-9 inches clearence for the jets.
