my '91 Cutlass Supreme sedan Intercooled Turbo 5-speed
this is my '91 Cutlass Superme sedan. it used to be a base model but i've done a TON of stuff to it. i've owned it since 4/00 & since then i've added an International Series BYP front bumper cover and BYP side & rear skirting, 16x8 crosslace '94 GTP wheels, '94+ 11" rear disc brakes, KYB sturts, TDC adjustable rear coilover kit (i can SLAM the rear or raise it about 2" above stock), Addco 7/8" rear sway bar, Eibach 1.5" drop front springs (although i just bought some Intrax 1.8" drop front springs that will go in soon, along with bigger '95+ 11.5" brakes), swapped in a Getrag HM-282 5-speed from an '89 Grand Prix (very fun to drive since then!), added HUD, added UB3 digital gauges cluster, added sport pod with DIC and a 5-speed center console, replaced the bench seats with leather buckets, 3M metalized tinted windows, Pioneer DEH-P77DH HU and more. the biggest mod though was the engine swap. it now sports an LG5 Intercooled Turbo 3.1L that i got from a '90 Grand Prix Turbo STE i found in the local j/y.
i don't have many pics of the car but here'* some:
on the engine stand in the garage....almost done:
i do have an .mpeg movie of the initial start up after i finished the Turbo swap. the vid is 18.5MB, but it'* a pretty cool vid IMHO

unfortunately, my stupid *** skimped on the timing chain, which broke after i drove the car 4 blocks :( that bent 2 valves and slightly nicked 3 pistons. i pick up the cylinder heads from the machine shop this week and should have the car back together shortly....here is the engine right now lol:
oh yeah the car has 227,000 miles but it'* TOTALLY rust/dent free and still looks good despite the high miles
thanks for lookin!

Dbtk2 (SP?) is gonna love this. He has a 4-dr Lumina Euro with the 3.1 turbo swap as well as an STE turbo, and his dad has a Turbo GP also (Also a highly modded GTP).
Gotta give you props on all the turbo cars and the passion to keep fixin them when they break. I did for about my first 4 SD'*, but after the 3rd motor in less than 10k in my GTC I pretty much lost 80% of my interest -the 3800 is gutsy, displays it and without much sweat which is much easier on my pocketbook.

I know this is on the "older topic" side. But would anyone know if I found the same 5 speed trans for his T 3.1 would it bolt up to my earlyer 3.8 (with minor clutch/shifter mods of course)
