Default First time washing the CTS

I know this'll sound crazy, but today was actually the first time that I've washed the CTS by hand! I had waxed the car back in October in the fall, but I just went to the touch-free car wash before waxing her. Today, I went out to my dad'* and actually gave her a quick once-over. I forgot how relaxing it could be to wash a car by hand. Just took a few quick pics since it'* actually clean for once since the winter. I also got to clean up the interior a bit after the loooong winter. Hopefully she can stay clean for a while now.

But first, the day started off with an oil change. (last change was in October, ~8,000 miles ago.

Wow, awesome car. But omg, the floor mats...ruin the interior look. something is just wrong there

super clean though. you never really realize how ineffective a touchless is until you throughly handwash a car.

you're right about the floormats. The funny thing is that I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. I've had those in EVERY single one of my cars. They started out their career in my 88 LeSabre, then saw a 1997 Riviera, then the 2001 Aurora, and now the 2005 CTS. I think it'* time to retire them!

Best I could find of the LeSabre:

eh. I know. it'* my dad'* place and he was doing some yard work and cleaning up his (golf cart?) lol. I don't have a way to clean my car at my apartment, so I drive the 20 minutes out to his house when I want to do detailed cleaning.

Those are sweeeet cars. A friend of mine recently picked up an '03 with the 3.6, that thing moves pretty good for sure. He also has the Volant intake on the way

Thanks for the comments guys.

Eric, the 04-07 CTS was available with a 190 HP 2.8 V6. My 05 has the 255 HP 3.6 engine. The 2003 CTS and some early 2004'* had an Opel 3.2 HP engine. The 3.6 has the best overall driving experience by far with the most horsepower and VVT. The volant intake has been dyno proven to increase wheel horsepower up to 12. (I have this intake.) So I'm probably pushing right around 267 for horsepower, and pulling 3,509 pounds.

The thing about the CTS is it has a 5-speed automatic transmission so under WOT it might not feel as quick due to how quickly it goes through gears and because it'* a very smooth engine under WOT. But, I can assure you she moves very well. It'* quicker than my mom'* 2000 SSEi. We've had a "go" at it before. The 00 Impala LS is rated for 8.2 seconds 0-60, the 05 CTS with the 3.6 is rated for 6.7 seconds.
