2010 paint job done!
Just for informational purposes, here is what I have in time materials, and cost:
I added up all my receipts and it was around $200 for all the paint supplies.
About 11 to 12 hours total, in prep and paint time, including wet sand and final buff....
repair and primer............................................ .................1.5 hours
sand primer............................................ ........................1.0 hour
primer top base coat.............................................. ..........1.0 hour
two stage base paint and clear (2 coats).............................2.0 hours
fishnet setup and design............................................ .......1.5 hours
final two stage paint and final clear coat (2 more coats).........2.0 hours
Then 2 to 3 days dry time for it all to cure good.
wet sand and final buff.............................................. .......2.5 hours
So about 11.5 hours or so in my paint job. Over 3 week period. I worked one night during the week and 3 weekends, which includes this weekend.
I use PPG and Omni paint and clear products, so the finished product will last a long time.

Awesome Paint Todd!. And glad to hear your taking the final step in wet sanding and rebuffing. Most think the job is done at the point your at. To get the super smooth finish and gloss, you have to wet sand the finished product and buff Buff BUFF! How about a couple pics of the paint all scoffed up and dry before you start the rubbing down.
Just for John'* request. Couple wet sand shots.....

Look close at this photo to see the dirt in the clear. The horse shoe looking spot in the sanded area.

One of two stage high polish buff.

Looking better!

Mind you I only have a 2 mega pixel camera phone...

Stage two high buff..

yeah yeah yeah...used a ceiling tile on ladder...lol
And done! in this light. Will do all over in the sun..

Naked bike just waiting for me to dress it all over again.

Man every time I see the bike like this I want to throw a Fat Tire kit on it.

Goodnight bike...until tomorrow.
