8.1 L 496 cu in vortec $17 harmonic balancer installer tool
so when i tried to find info on a 8.1L harmonic balancer installer tool i did not find much other then the GM tools
so this is to help any 1 else trying to do this at low cost and i hope this gets into goggle search
so the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer in is a 16M at 1.5 pitch
all the rent me tools i could find from all the big and small box stores do not have this sizes
on ebay is a tool called.... Axle and Front Wheel Hub Puller Pulley Remover–Flange Type 3-3/'' to 4-1/2''Inch
its For Servicing Front Wheel Drive Cars With M16x1.5 Thread Axle Shafts and its 17$ shipped to your door
it comes with the nut so cut the tip off clean it up and add your washer and use it as needed
works all the way with a deep 24MM socket

i dont know why i feel the need to say this but you dont need the Flange part your only getting this for the bolt and nut
PS this worked for a HD Deep harmonic balancer that was on a LP motor or K or topkick type truck as well
