Aftermarket stereo working w/Monsoon!
I am working on installing a Alpine CDA-9853 into my 2002 SSEI factory amplified Monsoon system.
I don't know if this has been gone through before but here it goes.
I purchased a Scosche GM07B for $10 from Walmart. Wired it up like any other non complicated vehicle. I wired in all three grounds to the single ground coming from the h/u. I also wired the two constant 12v sources(yellow) wires to the single 12v constant (yellow) coming from the h/u. Now for the accessory (red) wire. I wired it up to the front cigarette lighter. The 12v constant/accessory (yellow) wire. Stays on for five minutes after shutting the car off, but isn't a major concern. Thanks to this forum for that input! I was unable to track down another 12v accessory source.
On too the amp turn on. This is fairly easy once looking at the factory harness and the Scosche harness. The pink wire which I believe everyone refers to as pin A3 from the factory harness. Is the remote turn on. All I did was relocate a brown wire from the Scoche harness over one pin. I have this highlighted in pink on which wire I moved and from where. The black mark is the original pin location and where it is currently connects to the factory remote turn on.
After doing all of this. I have sound thru the factory amplified system with an aftermarket cd player. Although doing this does not retain chimes, or OnStar. It does allow to retain factory amplification for $15 bucks. That is including a small piece of 12 ga. wire needed to run the acc. wire.
I have included a picture of the harness wired up.

Edit*
The cigarette lighter is orange instead of yellow.
One other thing I should mention. I did not feel like tearing up the inside of my dash. So I used an install kit for a 1994 Chevy Beretta. Don't know the part # since I have so many of the install kits lying around. This kit extends the h/u out about 1" which gives clearance for everything without tearing anything up. Although I need to solve a small gap on top and bottom of the kit.
