Default 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali steering ctrl mod. input needs

I'm trying to figure out if I can use the power steering system from a 2016 sierra 1500 5.3l denali, and put it into an older vehicle (04 escalade.) I know that the mechanical portion will work, my issue is I don't know what the electrical needs are for the unit, or if there'* any way to provide it with 12v and somehow provide it with the necessary inputs using the 04 escalade electrical system. Judging by the amount of wires that go into the steering unit, it looks like it will not be possible, but hey maybe it is. Thanks

So you want to put electric power steering in a hydraulic power steering car? It is possible, like all things are with enough devotion, planning, hard work, and money. If you're looking for something that is remotely a plug and play swap then no.

Ohh come on, have a little faith. After glancing at the wiring diagram on all data it seems like a few critical modules would be required, power steering module is on the rack itself, the power steering shaft torque/position sensor is the only thing connected to the power steering control module outside of "data link" wires that run all over the place. My question then would be does anyone know if the "data link" connections are crucial to the operation of the power steering module? i have included the diagram.

You'll be spending a lot of time and money to do the switch you are planning.

Yes, they are. It uses this to be commanded [on] with the rest of the vehicle. This isn't the olden days of sending it 12V+ and 12V- and it starts working. These modules all need to talk to one another and the BCM and PCM.

If you swapped all of the electronics from the Sierra 1500 it would work. Assuming you wanted the vehicle to start and drive you'd have to swap the engine, transmission, and a bunch of other stuff as well.

My question then becomes: What do you gain by having a 2016 electric power steering system on a 2004 Escalade that you don't get from the factory-stock 2004 Escalade power steering system?
