Lost Chimes and Radio Will Not Turn Off
Hello
I have a 2007 2500HD 6.0 Gas truck that has a electrical issue. The alternator went out in it and I replaced it. I disconnected the battery when I did and had no issues replacing it. When I started the truck again after the install was complete I noticed that I have no chimes or audible warnings. I can open the door with the key in it and it makes no sound. When I start to run low on fuel it doesn't make a sound. Also, I now have to manually turn my radio(aftermarket) off when I get out of the truck, it will not turn off when the truck is off and door is opened. The steering controls for the radio also do not work or do not work correctly. All my other controls work. The dome light comes on when the doors are open and the dash display tells me the door is open. Everything was working correctly before the alternator went out. What should I check next.
Thanks

Does it have a factory radio?
Have you checked all fuses to make sure none are blown?
Just to be thorough: If you adjust your radio to fade to front and balance to the left, does it still play a radio station out of the left-front speaker?

You likely need to have the PCM/BCM flashed. It lost some of it'* memory.

some GM trucks use the radio for the chimes and steering wheel controls. when you put an aftermarket radio in you loose those functions so you have to install a module that controls those things with the new radio. It probably needs to be reset since you unhooked your battery. you'll need to take the radio out and find this module. It'* hooked to the radio so it'* probably tucked in next to it. Google the brand and type and their website should have instructions on how to reprogram it. Good Luck
