cold start then stalls 93 suburban
93 chevy 1500 suburban 5.7 motor, when cold starts then stalls I have to hold down throttle for it to run. Once it starts it runs great and warm starts are no problem
219 k miles.newer fuel pump new cap and rotor, ignition modual and new coil, also dissconnected the battery to reset, then the truck started right up but next day same old problems.
Any ideas? thanks

Clean the throttle body.

Make sure you get it clean and the IAC also. Those symptoms are typical of a dirty TB and IAC.

OK I replaced the IAC and cleaned the throttle body with the same result. Truck starts then stalls after several tries and holding the throttle down it starts and runs smooth. No problem once it starts. any other areas to look at?

Need to put a scan tool on it and see what the TPS and MAP/BARO are doing.

. . . and I'm curious if the IAC does anything at all, like if you pull it out then turn on the ignition does it do anything?
