New guy with 4L80E trans ?'*
New guy here.
I was given a 1995 C3500 dually that has a 5.7L TBI with a 4L80E trans, I am looking for a way to use the TBI computer to control the trans but not the motor. I have a 383CI motor I am going to put in it that has a blow through turbo on it. I want to do this as cheap as possible because I am on SS disability and it does not go far, I have read that you can keep the TBI computer and hook up a wire to the tach signal out of the HEI distributor and install a TPS sensor on the carb and that will allow the trans to shift in all gears. Is it that simple? I cant afford any of the stand alone add on control systems. any help would be appreciated.

Do a google search about converting 5.7 vortec to carb. There are a few sites that discuss this very topic.
