Need a bit of engine help.
So for the past few months I've had a 95 Pontiac Grand Am at the shop waiting for an engine harness. Just before that we were waiting for it to get an engine that worked/fit and the mechanic decided to settle on the one we currently have but as stated earlier, it just needed a harness that fit. So for the past week I've been trying to help with finding the last bit it needed but I'm honestly thinking that the mechanic either put the wrong engine in, put the wrong harness on the engine or he just completely mixed stuff. The engine he has in currently is an L82 GM engine which supposedly can fit in the pontiac but the one part that we need which most places show as a crankshaft position sensor is one for the 2.4 liter engine while what we have now is a 3.1. Sorry if I sound confusing or anything. I'm honestly confused trying to make sense of this and if needed I'm currently making links with images and everything.

What was wrong with the 2.4?
Did you intend to change from a 4 cylinder to a V-6?
Is this a time and materials job or do you have a fixed price for this conversion?
This being a 1995, you're planning on getting a different PCM, right?
