JalenBR is on a distinguished road
Default Buick LaCrosse

I have a 2009 Buick LaCrosse I think I have a transmission problem it will only allow me to drive the car in D 1 if I put it in regular drive it won’t move, it will move in reverse and I can park it, but regular drive it won’t move at all. Do any one know what this problem could be ?

From JalenBR'* profile, this is a V6, which means a 3800. Napa lists the 4T60E and 4T65E as possibilities for this car. Wish I could narrow it down more.

How many miles on this car today?

How many miles on this car when you bought it?

How many miles since the last transmission service?

Is the automatic transmission fluid full?

Does the automatic transmission fluid smell burnt?

Have you owned it for a long time and this issue just started out of the blue?

Has any work been done on this car recently?

Has the car experienced any trauma recently?

Has the car experienced any trauma in its life?

What area does this car live in?

Would be nice if we could get some answers to Cathedral'* questions....

Also, the car does not move in D, but moves in D1......now as the rpms get higher, and you move the shifter to D2, does the transmission shift to second or does it stay in first?

If it shifts to second, what happens when you move to D3? Does it shift into 3rd or stay in second?
