4t65e Help
I have a 2001 Buick Regal 3.8l non super charged. Its in the shop and the transmission was just rebuilt. Put a reman torque converter in it. Went to test drive it and there is no acceleration. Even with the car in park the RPMS will not go above 3000. The engine boggs down. Transmission fluid level is good. Checked fuel pressure it was around 50psi even when engine looses power.
Noticed when installing the Torque converter the old one was bolted to the outer set of holes on flywheel and the new one only lined up with the inner set. there is maybe about and 1/8" difference or so between inner and outer. Got the torque converter from Oreillys and Pro King makes it. it called for GM71CW which is for a ECCC system. Looked up the specs for bolt pattern and it is smaller then the one that is for the supercharged model GM51. Called ProKing to ask and they will not return phone calls. The GM51 torque converter is two weeks out.
Is the torque converter my problem or is there something else inside the transmission that could be causing it?
