2000 lesabre new quick struts now when under load front end shakes,,,just started right after strut chg...car had 170k on it at the time...front end sits higher than rear....I had a 4 wheel alignment done after strut chg
what to do ??

Front end sits higher than rear? Think there is nothing wrong with that?

Making sure I understand correctly: "load" is acceleration load, right?

If "yes" to the above, what kind of load are we talking, as in % throttle and speed?

What kind of shaking? Up-down/steering-wheel wobble/side-to-side/etc.?

Ok first off 2 different front end places said its the struts,,if it sits that much higher the cv shafts are at a severe angle and binding


Its at low speed like taking off from a stop with a slow take off or going up a hill at low speed,,,shake is side to side,,,,speed under 40mph,,,,on the highway no problem...I set the back a little higher with the air shocks,,,still does it...
These were ebay cheapo struts...

Yeah, and what can happen is the extreme angle gets slightly worse starting to accelerate due to torque squatting the back down and slightly raising the front . . . and this would lessen as speed increases and less torque is being applied at the front axle.

Makes sense, the same angle would be maintained at the CV joints. A good test would be to strap a deer or cow or best friend to your hood and see if it goes away or at least is greatly diminished. About 100-200 pounds of something strapped to the front bumper would probably do it. This would be to test the "angles theory" before committing further to that path.

I gotta chg these I guess,,,not only does it look stupid it shakes like crazy,,,so I assume there is no way to adjust these so,,,,whats the best brand ?

Just ordered the AC Delco Quick Strut Assembly($144. per) from Amazon for the 1989 Buick Electra. Have not installed yet but instructions say that struts sit higher until springs settle.

ive heard thats crap they don't "settle".....I know mine have been on over 10k miles and they haven't settled at all
