Problems with 2012 Chevy Traverse
I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse with a little over 17,000 miles on it, over the last two months it has been into the dealer three times now for the same thing, it wouldn't start. The first time the dealer couldn't really tell me what was wrong, it had power, but when you turned the key to start, nothing.
The dealer replaced the ECM, but a month later it did the same thing (two tows to the dealer) this time they said it was the theft deterrent module (that'* what I thought the problem was the first time) they replaced that, had the vehicle for over a week, they said they could not figure out how to reprogram it, plus they made two new keys. This morning the same thing happened. It is back at the dealer, they said the computer is throwing out four different codes this time, they had it all day, cannot figure it out. I called GM customer service, which is a joke, talked to a guy with an Indian accent, could NOT understand anything he was saying, he asked for the dealer phone number which I gave to him, he left me a voice mail saying he couldn't get thru to the dealer with that phone number, wanting to know if I had another number, REALLY???? You mean to tell me GM customer service cannot contact one of their dealers?? I talked to the service rep. at the dealer and asked for the GM regional field rep. number and they refused to give it to me, said I had to go thru customer service

there hasent been a factory theft module in way over a decade. if they cant figure out he their own tool to program the bcm or ecm you need to take it somewhere else. even if the security is set the car starts then shuts off the injectors has been that way since about 99. sounds more like your start relay is bad or the socket pins are loose, or something with the bcm or pcm

I agree with Justin. Now'* the time to find a different dealer. Any GM mechanic that "can't figure out how to program a module" is well, uneducated. Get it back and go somewhere else.

I did call Chevy customer service, it automatically got bumped up a level to some guy they call the district rep., but he hasn't been very helpful either, said he called the dealer and left a message with them?? I would be happy with an exchange for another vehicle at this point, it'* a lease, so shouldn't be too much trouble, one would think, but this guy says they have to figure out what is wrong first. All I know is my wife refuses to drive it because she doesn't want to be stranded somewhere.

I say F them! i myself have had some experience as well w/dealers. You bring their own product to them, yet they are so stupid they cant figure out about it. get a F petition going for a stupid they doing to you, ill sign it!take them to a court, have them replace a damn car if they cant fix one ur paying for now.
