Yup, I've about had it with dealing with this dealer and GM. The service manager is driving the vehicle around, trying to get it to happen again, this district rep is insisting something is interfering with the theft deterrent system, SO!!!!! It'* still a problem with it not starting. I'm going to park it in the driveway until the lease is up, I will NEVER buy another GM vehicle again, end of story. GM'* customer service sucks. Now I am just another dissatisfied customer, which I an sure they have plenty of.

Step 1:
Learn about the Lemon Laws in your state. You can look them up at CarLemon.com. Understand how they apply to your situation. If you they are favorable then tell everyone involved about how your truck qualifies and that you will pursue legal action if something can't be worked out quickly. Be sure to check your states time limits .. do not let GM drag you past the time to file against them!

Step 2:
Call GM customer service and get a case number. Explain every problem you have so they will be documented. Tell these people you are filing with the BBB, that you know these trucks are problematic and you are going to pursue a Buy Back or legal action.

Step 3:
Contact the General Manager or Owner of the dealership. Tell them what you told the customer service rep above. In some states you actually file suit against the dealership, not GM. GM steps in and assumes the liability. Anyway you look at it, the dealer doesn't want you to pursue legal action. Word of mouth can really hurt his business. Let him know that you expect his support! Tell him you want the Zone Rep to meet with you and look at your truck.

Step 4:
Fill out the Better Business Bureau on-line form. They will send you a copy of it to check and correct. You must sign and return it. You can speed up the process by a week if you fax it back to them at 1-703-247-9700. Be sure to include anything and everything that is or was wrong with your vehicle. You must state what you want done about the matter. I would suggest you think about it ... do you really want another GM truck. What will you lose if you ask for cash back? Some things to consider: Rebates are non-refundable, if your trade-in was a large amount you may have to pay an tremendous amount of sales tax when you buy another with the cash refund. GM does do what is called a "Trade Buy Back". It allows you to keep all your rebates and trade for the difference in MSRPs. That will keep sales tax to the difference too. So investigate that they probably won't offer it up front.

Step 5:
Wait for the Better Business Bureau to contact you.

Step 6:
Now,wait for GM to contact you....try not to worry. They are counting on that. Remember they know what they are doing and why. You can win just keep your cool. Be NICE but persistent with all parties involved!

Step 7:
Be creative! Think of ways to further your case. If you have the time start a web page. There is strength in numbers. Post your problem often in as many places as you can think of. Send Email to anyone you think might care and be in a position to help.

Thanks for the responses. I have the vehicle back, and I have threatened legal action, we have a legal service thru my wife'* work, so no big deal talking to a lawyer about it, won't cost us anything. I did check Michigan'* lemon law, has to happen four times, so I am just waiting for it to happen again, for sure we will turn it over to the lawyer then. GM called yesterday after we threatened legal action, they left a message that it was getting bumped up another level. My lease payment is only $98/month, I put quite a bit of money down on this vehicle so I would have low lease payments.

One more suggestion. Go to this site and search to see if similar complaints have been registered for the same vehicle. If there have, print them out and put them in your file for future reference.

Vehicle Owners | Safercar -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

Document, document, document. Keep a record of everything that happens, every call you make, every email you send, every phone conversation you have. Time, date, who you spoke to, what was discussed, etc.

I also have been jerked around by GM customer service. I have a 2012 Chevy Duramax with the spectacular Allison transmission. The truck holds first gear some times, mostly when it doesn't even have a load behind it. I took it to my dealer which I can't say enough good things about! Any time I have a problem they tell me to pick something out on the lot. Heck if I'm getting my oil changed they give me a vehicle of my choice. Unfortunately I work on the road so when my transmission started kicking in and out of gear with 29,000 miles on it when I was 1,400 miles from home I thought surely GM will take care of me. I was wrong! At first I was told basically if it didn't need to be towed it wasn't broke! So no loaner! So I guess I'm supposed to walk the 30 miles one way to get to work while my truck isn't broken enough to get a loaner! After a few hours of us discussing how ridiculous that was they told me to get a diagnostics to make sure it was under warranty. Ok only problem is no dealership could do it for a few days in a 100 mile radius. Sorry can't help you sir thank you for buying our $60,000 truck though. Basically I'm stranded unless I rent a truck on my own dime! That'* why I used to be a GM man! You had a good run GM. 16 year loyal customer no more I think I will buy a new F250
