Default Hazard switch fell behind dash

My wife just got home and told me that she mistakenly touched the hazard switch on her 02 on her 02 Alero as she was going to adjust the heater vent on the dash and the round switch completely disappeared falling somewhere behind the dash. Is there anyway possible I might be able to retrieve it without taking the whole dash apart? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

start by taking the footwell cover off and looking up in there, you may have to take the dash apart to put it back together anyway. i broke it on my old 03 monte, i think they are the same, its just cheap junk plastic hardly held together. i had to take that panel off set it face down on the bench so i could glue it back together

I would start by pulling the bezel off that the switch sits in. Perhaps it did not fall too far since it is tethered by the wires that are connected to it.
