I just cleaned the IAC..
Is The Tps in photo correct and the other one is??

Anyone got a diagram of the Throttle body on this 97 PA..want to take it all off for a good cleaning after viewing the IAC Ports!

IAC is correct.
TPS=MAF sensor
???=TPS

If you haven't picked up a new throttle body gasket yet, you might as well pick up a can of MAF cleaner while your at it. Along with a small tube of anti-seize. Those screws can be a real BEAR to get out. If it feels like your about to strip them, take a hammer and place the tip of the screwdriver into the slotted screw and WHACK it. This will break the loctite free(factory idiots)

Ya I figured the TPS should be below the IAC.
I am not going to attempt removal until I can get a good diagram.
Is there any how to on this site that would be helpful on cleaning/removal of the TB?
Man I think I need the FSM'* for this 97 Park Ave..sure need em!

It'* not difficult to do. Heck, I could do it in my sleep.

1. Remove all electrical connectors
2. You will see a metal arm that goes from the lower intake manifold to the TB. 10mm bolt I believe. Remove the bolt from the throttle body.
3. Disconnect the cruise control cable from throttle linkage. Just push it in the opposite direct than what it pulls from. It just snaps onto a post. Remove cable from TB bracket.
4. Remove throttle cable from TB bracket and loop the cable up around past the cable catch on the linkage and gently work out the stub from the linkage.
5. Remove the (3) 10mm nuts from the TB housing securing it to the UIM.
6. Remove TB.

Editors note: No one seems to know why that arm is installed from the LIM to the TB, most people simply remove it to simplify future installation and removal of the TB. I have on both of my cars with no ill effect.

As far as cleaning?? 2 cans of carb and choke cleaner should be fine once you get the TB off. That'* it.

When it comes to the 3800 in general, this forum is YOUR FSM. LOL. We have many members here that have torn these engines down to the main bearings and back together again.

The only thing you have to worry about is disconnecting the TB and Cruise cables from the linkage. That'* about it.
