Default dash goes out

I have a 2003 1500HD. Starts and runs great but recently has started a problem. After the vehicle is running the entire dash quits just like you turned the key off but the engine never stops a beat. it first started this while driving down the road but the other day it done it as soon as I started backing out of my carport. I am sure it is something electrical but anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

GM had a recall on the 1500 and Suburban dashes in 2003 and close model years. You are out of the warranty, GM did not send out recall notices. There are companies that rebuild the dashes, here is one of them:

I had this truck done under that recall but that was just the instrument cluster, now I am talking the entire thing, air conditioner radio and all goes off. Everythng shuts down just like you turned the key off. I think this is a different issue. Thanks for your reply.

I wonder if you have an ignition switch issue. Alot of power goes through that switch and the little fingers on the switches carbon up after awhile. The Blazers are notorius for this and I believe my 2000 Blazer did the same thing.

replace fuse even though it appears to be good. could have hairline crack, not easily visible, that opens with heat. Had this exact problem on old toyota. turnes out that rear window defogger was on same circuit and it was that fuse.

Wow, second post on this site and I can already help out. My grandpa had a 2001 Blazer, and had the same problem. He had a new switch/starter put in and it worked fine.
