I'm young and new to this. I recently bought a 92 camaro rs but now as im working on it, i think that the engine is the original. is there anyway i can take the serial number from my engine an find out what car it came out of or if any of you know... the serial number is 10087565 gm......... thanx

Where did you get that number? Was it on the thermostat housing?

If I remember correctly, engine serial numbers are cast into the block itself. Some solid research may give you a close answer, but I'm not aware of any Web app that will take an engine serial and give you the car the factory dropped it in.

welcome to the site, theres likely numbers on the block that at least should tell you what year it was made and then if that matches maybe go further.
