The other day I'm driving along, and I see a bunch of people standing by the side of the road holding signs. I look over to read it. Generally they say things like, your texting is killing me. Real smart, distract me from my driving to read a sign telling me I shouldn't do something that will distract me.

I agree with what they're trying to do - I drive by people everyday who are on the phone or texting, and it'* definitely not safe for anyone to be distracted while driving. But it makes no sense to distract someone in order to tell them to stop distracting themselves.

Yea instead they should stand in the middle of the road where we are already looking so we can read the signs without being distracted

People who say talking on the phone while driving is bad are dumb. I'll agree that texting is bad, but driving on the phone isn't. I mean if the most anal retentive people about safety (read: Military) allow it to happen on base with the use of a handsfree device, then it'* not a big deal.

The only time I have trouble with the phone is digging it of my pocket to answer it.

My phone is in my cupholder when I'm driving. I think it'* funny when a cop has to put down his phone to pull someone over for talking in their phone
