Default Noisy ventilation

I think i've got this problem figured out but i wanted to talk to some experts about it. When ive got the fan on (no matter what speed), after a while it'll start sounding really rough (noisy and grinding/rough kind of) as if its about to die, and it'll stop for a few seconds, then start again, but sounding really rough. air still comes out of the vents. from what i've been reading on here it sounds like the blower motor is shot, or on its way out.
what does everyone else think?

Sounds like the blower motor is going out to me. You can find a replacement at Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto

mine squeaks a little bit when put on full blast in cold conditions, but i never use the air conditioning during the summer because im too lazy to fill the canister with gas, i just roll down the window and feel the breeze.

Mine made noise at times- same like something grinding. But it was actually one of the radiator fans. The radiator fan has a metal shield on it and it is held with the plastic clips and that made the noise....just an idea, maybe same for you.

Fixed!
The problem was the blower motor...when i took it out and spun it...well it didnt spin well at all haha. the new one works like a dream.
One thing though, the plastic covering around the blower motor, there is a tube that goes into the hole in the motor casing itself, but goes through this plastic cover. Now my cover is breaking around this area, so i'm not sure if the tube is going to stay in fully all the time (i'm afraid its going to come out).
Does anyone know what this tube does? or if theres a potential to replace that plastic cover?

Thumbs up

not sure of its intentions due to the lousy picture diagram on my comp...

gm can replace both with new for 59.21 List after tax
Tube - # 3035192 - 9.82
Cover - # 52468407 - 44.44

probably a couple days shipping but and gm dealership could get em, or a member or a scrapyard if you find one in good condition
