Default 1998 Cadillac STS tires on 2005 Bonneville SE

Hi, great forum. I've been an occasional lurker and have a question if anyone feels like helping.

I have a 2005 Bonneville SE with 225/60-16 tires and the wheels that came with the car. The tires are going but I might be able to squeeze another year or two out of them.

My wife has a 1998 Cadillac Seville STS with 235/60-16 tires and some pretty nice chrome wheels that were an option when the car was new. (We got both cars used.) We installed some new tires on it today, because the old ones were 10 years old and the cracks in them were starting to scare me. We're thinking of getting rid of the STS in a year or two though.

My question is: if I do end up selling the STS, can I simply switch the wheels along with the tires so that I keep the flashier wheels along with the new tires on my Bonneville? Is the change in width and height significant?

Yes you can switch the wheels over the bolt pattern and offset is the same for both cars, however the tires for the sts are slightly wider and taller but you should be fine. Test fit put one on the front and watch in the wheel well (both sides inside and out) while someone else turns the steering wheel lock to lock.

Thanks, San Juan Cruiser! I'll give it a try when the time comes. One other thought I had - will the brakes on the Bonneville be up to stopping the larger wheels?
