Default 2000 Cadillac STS - stumbles - stalls

My wife'* cadillac stumbles under acceleration after approx 10-15 min of run time. At this point it should be at operating temp. This has not happened everyday, until here recently. After the stumble, it runs fine. However, it does stall completely out when warm, and it does not matter if idling or not. It will not stall going down the road, but will sometimes when turning, and it does not matter which direction. It is always hard to start after the stalling, which makes it seem like a fuel problem. I am unfamiliar with this vehicle; my wife got it from her Dad when he passed away. The vehicle did set up for 1 year but we have driven it for 2 years.Where would I start to track this. The service engine light does come on on occassions, but at present it'* off. Can this vehicle'* codes be accessed by crossing the ground and diagnostic terminal or does a scanner have to be used? Any help/steps to take would be greatly appreciated!!

Mike

having the codes would help alot, you need a obd2 scanner to get them. autozone will read them usually for you. kinda sounds like the ign. control module to me, but there are a few guys here that know the northstars better than me.

moved to it'* proper Mechanical Section. General Chat is for items that affect all platforms and "General Chat". It really helps the GearHeads, others with ownership of same/similar Models, the Forum regarding search bots, and our own internal search engine when we keep things in order. Thanx.
