Default new pulley question

I have a buddy who has a cobalt ss. He is fixing to put in a 2.7 pulley into his car and i was wondering if it was possible to put the 3.1 he currently has into my 2000 ssei. Does anybody know if this can or should be done?

you have to have ALOT of mods to run the 3.1, including headers, and a cam or intercooler

I run a 3.3" and I have a lot of mods. Also, you need to look at what kind of SC he has, is the shaft the same size? The cost of a pulley isn't worth a mistake. If you really want a smaller pulley, I have a 3.4" press on I'm not using. But even that might be a little small.

You can use a stock belt with a 3.5" and even a 3.4" but it gets loose with the 3.4" You can drop to a 715 belt, stock is 725 or you can go with a over sized tensioner. The down side with the over sized tensioner is the belt gets real close.

I'll go $40 shipped. I have a over sized tensioner if you need one. I'll go $60 shipped for both.
