Last I heard MS was predicting a release for 2010, now they're saying one year...more likely 2 but still...

I'm curious to see what they come up with... in the mean time I'm sticking with XP

I'm hoping they go with one version this time around...having 4 different versions is confusing to the consumers. I'm happy with Vista for now, but I would like to see the next version use less ram and hopefully a better sound architecture. Vista has basically made hardware sound cards useless, but what do I care, I use onboard LOL

Eh, hardware manufacturers certainly aren't helping at all. Creative is now suing the guy who created drivers for some cards to work in Vista and released them publicly. They never bothered to create new drivers.

I disagree with the RAM part. IMO, using more RAM makes it smoother and wastes less processing doing mundane things. Solid state storage is goooood

I went from 2gb of ram to 4 gb of ram and noticed NO improvement.
