Why are pictures always so small on ebay?

Is there a reason? Does ebay deliberately want buyers to not know what they're bidding on?

yeah ebays picture hosting sucks but I guess its to save bandwidth on their end.

So basically, the html link that you can choose in your photobucket? If so, that'* kinda what I figured.

I just found out I could do the same on craigslist recently too.
