Hey guys, I just did an intake change on my 00 SSEI and after getting it running I noticed that the supercharger was making a grinding noise. I pulled the plug on the side to see if it was low and it was so I added about half of the bottle, that the oil comes in, of 5w20 syn. because I bought a cd rom off ebay that has the break down of everything to do with the Bonne and it said it was ok to us this. Is this true or do I need to suck it out and put SC oil back in it??
Thanks
Joe
Thanks

Get it out of there and put the right stuff back in. You should only use GM supercharger oil. It'* primarily animal fats.
Superchargers have burnt bearings using synthetic oil in the past.

Yes, it should be filled to the bottom of the threads.
I'd suggest running it like that and then changing it again in late spring/early summer. I'm anal about SC oil, and the synthetic still remaining would bug me worse.

Will do.. Thanks. I don't run the car that hard anyway, my wife mainly drives it back and forth to work (thats why it still only has 64,000 miles) so I will change it again around the end of April.
