This is on my '88 T Type.

The car sat in Florida for several years with the windows up and with less than perfect door and windshield seals. When I got the car, there were small puddles of water in the floorboards...

However, I've been keeping the windows down and the car in the sun as much as possible in the last couple weeks that I've had it and all the standing water is gone. I'm sure I will need to pull up the carpet come spring and de-water and de-rust anything that got under the carpet, but thats going to have to wait.

New seals are going in as soon as I have money ($130 for the doors and around $100 for the windshield to be done professionally). Its just that car kinda smells funny on the inside.

I've tried spraying it down with lysol to kill any bacteria in the air and it seemed to help quite a bit but it still smells funky.

Any suggestions as to what I can put in the car to suck up any more moisture and/or smell?

I had the same problem after my Bonnie was stolen. I simply used a few sheets of Bounty Fabric Softner. It works great and is alot cheaper than buying air freshener from AutoZone or etc.

you gotta pull the carpet and get EVERYTHING before you expect any real results.

Fabric softener? Will anything work or just Bounty?

And where did you get that de-orderizer thing at?

I'm planning on stripping the interior this summer for a deep cleaning session but in the mean time its just annoying.

What about Febreeze or a box of baking soda?

I've heard of using baking soda, you just sprinkle it everywhere on the floor and let it sit for a while then vaccum it up, the baking soda should absorb the odor.

id try baking soda, it helps on smells, febreze wont hurt either, if anything it will smell nice for a little bit

I'm sure anything will work, but I'm using Bounty because thats what my parents buy.

Cool.. I think I'm going to dump a bunch of baking soda and some sheets of fabric softener in the car before class tomorrow then.
